Essential Items for Your Rakhi Puja Thali

Before beginning the rituals, prepare an auspicious Rakhi Puja Thali containing essential traditional items: a sacred Rakhi thread, Roli (Kumkum) mixed with a few drops of water, Akshat (unbroken rice grains), a lit Ghee Diya for Aarti, fresh Indian sweets (Mithai), and a small coconut (Nariyal).

Step-by-Step Raksha Bandhan Rituals (Vidhi)

Morning Preparation: Both brother and sister should bathe early and wear clean, traditional attire. Begin by seeking blessings from family deities for peace and well-being.

Seating Position: The brother should sit comfortably facing towards the East or North direction. Ideally, the brother covers his head with a clean scarf or handkerchief during the ceremony.

Applying Tilak & Akshat: The sister applies a sacred Roli Tilak on the brother's forehead, pressing unbroken rice grains (Akshat) over it to pray for his longevity and victory.

Important Ritual Rules to Remember

Always verify the Shubh Muhurat on the traditional Panchang before performing the ceremony. Avoid tying the Rakhi during Bhadra Kaal, as this period is traditionally considered inauspicious for sacred rituals.
